Gay mormon sex

Posted by: wantthetruth Date: December 02, PM. Gay Mormon Missionaries. Does anyone know of any information that gives a possible percentage figure for misionaries that are either gay and serving missions not out or gay missionaries that "came out" after they returned? I'm trying to broaden my understanding about the churches stance on the whole gay issue and it's effects on the membership, missionaries in this case.

I lean heavily toward this forum for information because it seems that if I search the internet through a certain search engine, I get alot of Wiki stuff and other "types" of articles that seem to be written by the church. Some of that info even suggests that the BYU leadership was totally unaware of the early "aversion therapy" experiments that went on at the school.

Not to mention alot of verbal back-pedaling by the church leadership on past postions regarding homosexuality. Even changes in the advice given to people with same sex attraction. It gets frustrating to get consistancy from a church that continualy evolves itself to appear more mainstream.

Sorry gay the ramble but if you guys and gals could help me out that would be great! Thanks in advance! Link to gay mormon affirmation group. Lots of stories there. And if you find any who are into "daddy-bears", give 'em my email. Posted by: freeman Date: December 02, PM. Re: Gay Mormon Missionaries. If I had to guess, as a straight man, I would assume the proportion of missionaries who are gay would be slightly sex than the proportion of men who are gay in the mormon population, given a gay Mormon - one who knows he is gay at 19 at least - would presumably be less likely to go on a mission.

None of the gay Mormons I knew as a teenager went. Posted by: ambivalentsinces Date: March 05, PM. I wonder whether this has changed over time. I'd be cautious about even suggesting a methodology for arriving at a reliable estimate, but mainly I'm wondering, for instance, how the percentages might have differed for gay Mormon men before and after Stonewall or using the AIDS crisis as another watershed event.

I sex actually make a countercase for the percentage being higher, given that a lot of the more hetero-leaning males I knew avoided missions and used those years instead to "sow their wild oats" only later coming back in the fold. Case in point being my father, but that was gay the model. I actually tend to think mission service might have held a stronger appeal for those struggling with sexual identity, at least in those days.

Consider also that as a mormon man, you probably were much more aware of those who were not or could not manage to remain closeted. Also, I have no idea of your age and generation, I suspect the picture is quite different today. But ultimately all I have right now is speculation and my own intuition to go by. Depends on your age freeman.
